Item Description

A fantastic, RARE style and sculptural two-sided amethyst and citrine combination plate from this well-known locale. The intergrown, scintillating, glassy pretty purple amethyst crystals have a striking biomorphic look. It resembles the head of an animal with rounded ears and puffy cheeks - maybe a bobcat, raccoon or bear cub! Hints of yellow citrine are noted at the base and within the specimen, adding color and contrast. This is the source for the amethystine quartz crystals (aka "cactus quartz" and "spirit quartz") erroneously marketed as being from the Magaliesberg Range in the early 2000s. Nearly all specimens had quartz points and were not plates, such as this. The plate GLOWS, when back lit and reveals the underlying citrine to super adavantage. Now, not really available as this is mined out. Rare and excellent combination materal in this style valued at $900.
