A sculptural and excellent small cabinet tanzanite crystal. The gemmy and lustrous sharply terminated elongated crystal exhibits classic, textbook pleochroism. The A and B axes are the beautiful, blue and blue-violet, and you can see flashes of purple-red on both sides, indicative of natural unheated state of color. The base of the crystal is translucent to nearly opaque and one side is contacted. Both terminations are contacted. The long face is pristine and only the base of the short face is lightly bruised. This is a wonderful, complete all-around untreated tanzanite with textbook colors and sharp crystal form. 15 grams mass. Valued at $800-1000.
