Item Description

An old-time fantastically formed two-generation marcasite specimen from this historic lead-zinc area, discovered in the 1840s with the last mine closing in the 1970s. Two intergrown stalactites of shimmering marcasite are dramatically and preferentially overgrown with rosettes of lustrous, brassy-metallic marcasite blades. Complete all-around and pristine, this is a most fascinating specimen from the Charles Noll Collection, a well-known Wisconsin collector who passed away in 2014.
