Polished Rhodochrosite stalactite slice

The rhodochrosite stalactites have a strikingly different look on both sides of this colorful and sculptural polished slab from the famous Capillatas Mine, Argentina finds. The starkly contrasting banded brown rind dramatizes that 7 stalactites on one side merge in to a single large compound stalactite with multiple "eyes" in the 5 mm to the other side! The dense banding of the colorful, variable pretty rose-red stalactites is eyecatching and even the color intensity varies from one side to the other! Very choice and sculptural older material from the 1980s finds.
