Item Description

Intergrown, sharp, mirror-bright, brassy, pyrite cuboctahedrons form a dramatic and sculptural large specimen from the famous mines at Huaron. Prism faces are smooth to striated, adding realy pizzazz to this fine piece. The dominating crestal compound crystal cluster is 3.8 cm across. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, with only a bit of bruising to the large cluster on the left side. The attachment is at the base and even the back looks great. Specimens of this high quality came out during the heyday of the 1970s and 80s. Ex Paul Zerfass Collection # 910. Peru has produced some of the world's finest pyrite specimens and this is an excellent large example with fine form and crystallization.
