Item Description

A classic specimen of GEM QUALITY Thaumasite from the famous N'Chwaning Mines. This rare sulfate has a strange chemistry as it has carbonate, sulfate and hexahydroxysilicate anions in the same species. This thumbnail features a pastel-yellow, GEM Thaumasite crystal free of matrix. Originally, these pieces came out labeled as Ettringites, but it has now been shown they are the much rarer member of that series.
