Item Description

Pretty sea-green, lustrous and tranlucent smithsonite botryoids richly and aesthetically carpet the undulating miniature matrix on this showy and classic example from this extinct small underground mine near Tombstone. Good smithsonite specimens are rare from here. Ex Pete Knudsen (collected by him in 1978) and Bruce Murphy Collections. See the March-April 1983 Mineralogical Record article on the Silver Bill Mine in Vol. 14, No. 2.
