Item Description

A dramatically sculptural 360-degree gypsum specimen from Poland and the Dave Stoudt Collection. Two striking, upright, lustrous, striated, water-clear to oxide-tinted fishtail-twinned bladed crystals dominate the piece and are aesthetically set on the very artistic matrix of smaller gypsum crystals. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, for such a soft mineral, with only very gentle bruising to the termination edges of the large blades. Ex Dave Stoudt Collection. Dave is a petroleum geologist who lived and worked in Poland and acquired many fine specimens. He purchased this piece in Warsaw in March, 2000. Choice gypsum from Poland.
