Item Description

A rare, outstanding and rich old-time combination from the famous Phoenix Mine. Fluorapophyllite is uncommon in Copper Country and blocky crystals with pyramidal terminations, often assoicated with analcime, occur more rarely (March-April 1992 Mineralogical Record Michigan Copper Country special issue, page 65). Scintillating, gem-like crystals are festooned on the striking mounded cluster of intergrown, glassy, porcelaneous analcime trapezohedrons, to 2.5 cm. The brown oxide tinting adds color and character. VERY RARE and superb old-time combination material, certainly around 100 years old or older. Value of such a fine rarity? We have seen like this valued at several thousand dollars at major shows.
