Item Description

Mineral specimens of any species are EXTREMELY RARE from this extinct Minnesota iron mine. The sculptural goethite specimen has rust-brown bubbly botryoids, typical of classic "kidney ore" specimens. The broken faces show the classic banded radial growth of the goethite blades, adding interest and character. Comes with an older label, probably from the 1950s to 70s. Ex Dr. Barratt Phillips Collections. Rare goethite with rare form from this mine. A must for the Minnesota or species collector.
