Cuprian Descloizite

Item Description

Cuprian descloizite is RARE from the more obscure mines of the Otavi district. The hefty ore matrix is richly covered with green micro crystals. The matrix contains much glassy material, that could be either cerussite or anglesite. The only mine in Otavi, that all three species occur is the very obscure copper Nosib Mine. This could be possibly be mottramite on anglesite/cerussite from Tsumeb. From an East Coast collection and comes with a Hugh Ford label dating from 1946-57. Old and rare combination material.
