Large Calcite & Baryte on Fluorite (Sanabria Coll.)

Item Description

A sculptural and impressive large combination from this noted Asturias mine. Glassy, translucent, colorless calcite scalenohedrons, to 4.3 cm, are richly and aesthetically clustered on one part of the mounded specimen. Much of the 3-dimensional matrix is covered with classic, golden-yellow, gem fluorite cubes, to 1.3 cm, and scattered dustings of starkly contrasting snow-white barite blades are a very showy and common accessory. Periphery wear and some cleaved calcites are noted, but this remains a classic, dramatic and large combination from this famous locale. Purplish-white fluorite fluorescence. Mass is 8.8 pounds or 4 kilos mass. Ex Sanabria Collection.
