Large Descloizite (classic locale)

Item Description

A very rich and sculptural large descloizite specimen from this famous mine. The striking contrasting bifurcating matrix crust is covered with both sharp lustrous, blocky black crystals with another portion grading into sparkly, blocky crystals with a frosted secondary descloizite overgrowth The crystals reach 1.3 cm on this impressive large specimen with multiple display angles. The Berg Aukas Mine is the source of the world's finest examples of the species. It was discovered in 1913 and closed in 1978. This is a very fine and rich large specimen with unusual form and crystal quality.
