"Star" Muscovite

Straw-yellow, pearlescent, star-like muscovite blades are densely and aesthetically clustered on the starkly white feldspar matrix on this excellent piece from Brazil. This is a sculptural and colorful small cabinet example of the so-called "star mica" which occasionally comes from here, named for its complex habit which makes the individual crystals, when they stand out, look like little stars. Essentially pristine, except for the periphery wear. The piece has two fine display views.
