Item Description

A very rarely seen example of Sanidine Feldspar in the form of a textbook, sharp, well-formed, beige colored "Baveno" twin from this lesser known locality in Bulgaria. The piece is complete all the way around, and is nearly a "floater" were it not for some attached matrix at the base. This twinning habit of Feldspar gets its name from the first discovery at Baveno, Italy, but are found all over the world. This is the ONLY piece of this material that we've had to offer from this locality, and comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. Vajdak's label says that this material is very rare. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371
