Item Description

Wardite is an uncommon phosphate in pegmatites, but it is very rarely associated with Tourmaline. This piece is one of only a few specimens that I've seen with Wardite and Tourmaline together. Sharp, well-formed, off-white colored crystals of Wardite measuring up to 2 mm are sitting on / with rich blue-green colored prismatic Tourmaline off matrix. If you collect thumbnails, unusual associations or pegmatite minerals, don't miss out on this attractive and rarely seen specimen. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12803). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
