Item Description

Hubnerite is RARE from the Casapalca Mine compared to the world class specimens from Pasto Bueno and the Mundo Nuevo Mine. This is an exceptional and aesthetic cluster of lustrous, parallel-growth terminated blades strikingly accented with clusters of glassy quartz points. The dramatic central tower of crystals is most imposing in its 360-degree elegance. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a few smaller gently bruised terminations at the top and a few spots of side wear and broken crystals, which expose the cherry-red color of the hubnerites. Outstanding and rare Peru hubnerite from the Ed Ruggiero Collection. See the locality and 1977 find reference on Page 36, Volume 1 of the 1978 Mineralogical Record issue. Value of such a fine rarity?
