Spinel is a gem that comes in a great range of colors. Most people are familiar with red Ruby Spinels, but a large percentage of Spinels out there are not red. This is a beautiful purple Spinel from Sri Lanka. It is an attractive gem with a lively purple hue with that slight metallic overtone that is often seen in non-red Spinels. The gem is VERY very slightly included and has a traditional "Cushion Brilliant" cut. This is certainly a good quality Spinel with a wonderful color, and they seem to be less available on the market than they were 10 years ago. Valued at $417.50 high retail.
