Prehnite

Prehnite has always been a popular gem among collectors because of its lovely green color. The famous Prospect Park Quarry in northern New Jersey produced some amazing gem grade Prehnite over the years, but sadly this locality is gone and will never again produce these amazing specimens. This gem was cut from a piece collected many years ago in "the Park". It has fairly good translucency with a lively greenish-yellow color and even shows a very slight chatoyant / "cat's eye" effect. The stone has an "Oval Cabochon" cut. A great U.S. gemstone for any collector, or just a good quality Prehnite regardless of where it's from.
