Item Description

Tourmalines are some of the most diverse and popular gems out there. They're one of the few gems that occur in natural bicolor stones as well. The majority of bicolor Tourmalines on the market today are Brazilian in origin, and remain as some of the most attractive in the gem world. This particular set was cut from matching crystals mined in Brazil back in the 1970s. The elongated "Rectangled" cut of the stones really helps to show the distinct green color and slight colorless "Achroite" zone on the end of each gem with the majority of each stone showing a wonderful pink hue. This stones are virtually eye clean, which is rare as Tourmaline is classified as a "Type 3" gemstone, and inclusions are almost always present, and accepted by dealers and collectors, so this set is certainly better than most on the market. I have to say that these stones are becoming harder and harder to find these days. A more than worthwhile stone for the starting price, as they gems were valued at $544.00 retail.
