Spinel is another gem that comes in a great range of colors. Most people are familiar with the Ruby Spinels, but a large percentage of Spinels out there are not red. This is a dark blue Spinel with excellent cutting and good size. It is an attractive gem with a rich deep blue color which is rarer in Spinel than most other shades. The gem has VVS clarity and an "Oval Brilliant" cut. The stone needs a decent amount of light for the blue color to shine through, but it's there. The high retail price on this gem is approximately $333.00.
