Description:An EXCELLENT, gemmy and lustrous cluster of RARE magenta, octahedral spinel crystals jauntily perched on starkly contrasting gray marble from Mogok, Burma. The cluster has incredibly ornate form and flashing faces all over its surface. This is an EXCEPTIONAL LARGE and VERY FINE spinel cluster from this famous locale and the purplish-red, gemmy color is REMARKABLE. The UNRETOUCHED backlit photo highlights the gemmyness and gorgeous magenta color density. Valued at $2000 or perhaps more. It is really quite fine! Also, remember that Burma is currently under embargo and i am required to state that this is an old specimen that has been in the US for some time now. Also, of course on the flip side, not as much comes out anymore, and mining there has really slacked off from the lack of cash flow for specimens.
