Description:A CLASSIC, very rich and HIGHLY DESIRABLE specimen from the famous Les Farges Mine of France. Lustrous, "wet-look", apple-green pyromorphite prisms to 7 mm cover the sculptural barite matrix plate. Most of the tapering prisms are hoppered and the preferential coating of iron oxides is a nice accent. Apple-green is THE most desirable Les Farges pyrommorphite color and this is an EXCELLENT specimen, with only a couple of broken crystals, for such RICH coverage. Les Farges has been closed since 1981. Ex Jamie Bird Collection and valued at $1500. This is CLASSIC for this famous and collectible locale, from which only a few specimens come back on market today. Comes with a custom , carved and name-engraved base (valued at $125)
