Item Description

What a showy and three-dimensional "jackstraw" cluster of prismatic, striated Tourmaline crystals from Brazil. There was no given mine for the piece, and with the dozens of Tourmaline localities in Minas Gerais, it was too difficult to know exactly where it was from. The crystals on this specimen measure up to 6.2 cm long, and while they may look black at first glance, they are actually a dark green hue with a slight yellowish tinge. The majority of the crystals fully terminated, some with pyramidal terminations, other with semi-fibrous / stepped terminations. Minor white Albite and a few gemmy Quartz crystals can be seen on the back of the piece.
