Item Description

A wonderful display specimen of this classic discovery. The Goethites from Tharsis are among the most notable for the species mostly due to their amazingly bright and eye-catching rainbow-like iridescence. The amazingly vivid colors range from brilliant magentas and golds to bright yellows. The gorgeous botryoidal waterfall coloration make for a truly beautiful overall piece. Even the "black" part of the specimens are bright with a silvery flash. For iron oxide, this is not your run of the mill Goethite, and it only compares in my mind to the famous Turgites from Graves Mt. in Georgia. A particularly large plate.
