Item Description

Some of the best contemporary Aquamarine specimens are those from Erongo. Not only is the quality superb on many of these Aqua specimens, but the associations can make for some really stellar specimens. This piece features large, incredible, sharp, lustrous, RICH blue color hexagonal Aquamarine crystals measuring up to 7.3 cm associated with notably striated, jet-black color crystals of Schorl Tourmaline measuring up to 5.7 cm sitting on cream colored Microcline matrix. The largest Aqua is such a rich blue color, it really can't be called Aquamarine, it should be called BLUE BERYL. The Schorl crystals have an interesting form as they show fibrous forms, both along the prisms and on their terminations. If you flip the piece over, you can see negative blocky cavities (most likely "casts" after a preexisting mineral). I can't find any damage of note on the piece, perhaps a tiny "Wilber" here or there, but it's in superb condition overall. The piece has such beautiful aesthetics and fine overall displayability that it immediately grabs one's attention. Valued in the inventory at $3,000.
