Item Description

What a dramatic and eye-catching three dimensional Microcline specimen from Pakistan. Typically, the Feldspars from most Pakistani localities are not terribly three-dimensional, but this piece is a showy "burst" of crystals coming out in all directions. The crystals themselves measure up to 4.5 cm and the vast majority of them are pristine with fine prismatic form and a slight "sugary" coating of what I believe is micro Albite(?). To top it off, the piece is associated with a small doubly-terminated silvery-green colored crystal of Hydroxylherderite, which is not a common species found at Shengus. For the aesthetics, quality and Herderite association, this is a very worthwhile display specimen of a species that most people don't think about when it comes to minerals of Pakistan. From the personal collection (not inventory) of Herb Obodda (#3311). Valued at $1650 in the inventory.
