Item Description

A rich specimen of soft yellow Jarosite associated with reddish-brown Sphalerite on matrix from the Lill Mine in the famous Pribram District in the Czech Republic. I looked at the piece close up under the microscope, and I can see a few tiny colorless blades of Gypsum on the Jarsoite, but they were honestly too small to photograph. It should be noted that Jarosite has not been reported from the Lill Mine, but this piece comes from noted Czech / Slovak mineral expert, Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, so I trust the source. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371 It's clearly a micro specimen, and we have photographed the crystals with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality and enhance the detail.
