Item Description

I know that Indian Zeolite specimens and associated minerals are fairly common right now, but you must appreciate them for what they are. Many of these pieces are simply some of the finest crystallized examples of their respective species extant. This piece features sharp, gemmy, prismatic, lustrous crystals of Fluorapophyllite measuring up to 5.0 cm long with associated peach groups of Stilbite on matrix. The piece is in great shape all around, the two main crystals are undamaged, and aside from some roughness around the periphery, the piece is virtually damage free. One day (eventually) India will not produce any more of these zeolites and associated speices, and they will more than likely receive great recognition for being the amazing display specimens that they are. From the worldwide collection of famed Italian mineral collector, field collector and author, Francesco Bedogne of Sondrio, Italy (Collection #470). Bedogne wrote dozens of articles and several books about the mineralogy of Italian Alpine localities such as Val Bregaglia, Val Masino, Val Codera, Val Spluga, Valtellina and the famous Val Malenco. He was also the founder of the Valtellinese Mineralogical Institute.
