Item Description

A gorgeous, thick, stout, very well-formed, INCREDIBLY GEMMY, razor sharp scepter crystal of soft smoky colored Quartz from an undisclosed locality in China. The piece is in great shape all around with only a micro nick near the termination. The piece has a strange slightly curved face on one of the sides which has really attractive semi-etched patterning. A wonderful Quartz specimen regardless of the locality, and would make a superb addition to a Quartz suite or a gem crytal collection. PLEASE NOTE: There are a few red marks on the exterior faces, which are just ink from a marker used by the Chinese dealer who sold it, but we couldn't remove it all. Valued at $1300. From the collection of the long time, beloved, well-known French field collector, Paul Zerfass (Collection #XXXX). Zerfass built this worldwide collection over nearly 50 years, many of which were personally collected. A biography featuring specimens from his collection (along with his face on the cover) is in the May - June 2017 issue of French mineral magazine, Le Regne Mineral. We have a .pdf copy of the article for anybody interested in reading it (though it's mostly in French). Just drop us a line and know that you'd like to have a copy.
