Item Description

For all of the different habits and colors of Adamite from the world famous Ojuela Mine, this piece is different than most. Don't be fooled, the Adamite is actually the soft blue-green layer that covers most of the specimen. There are dozens of intense green "balls" of Conichalcite with a vitreous / waxy luster that sit atop the pale blue-green Adamite with gemmy colorless rhombs of Calcite on gossan matrix. The individual "balls" of Conichalcite are only a couple mm, but they erupt with color, especially when backlit. If you collect Mexican minerals, especially those from Ojuela, you can't afford to miss out on this colorful and eye-catching cabinet display specimen. Valued at $1100. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teohuacan, Mexico (Collection #8631).
