A fine quality, 1.3 cm, very sharp and lustrous brilliant yellow color modified crystal of Smithsonite sits brilliantly on underlying smaller Smithsonite crystals on matrix. The overall quality, aesthetics, color and form make this a very desirable specimen from this noted Smithsonite producer. The Smithsonites from Berg Aukus are arguably better quality than those from the nearby Tsumeb Mine, but probably don't get enough credit today as they were not as plentiful. I've seen many different habits and colors of Smithsonite from this locality, but this particular piece is really fine, and the overall balance and appeal leave nothing to be desired. Great quality and so darned eye-catching. If you collect Smithsonites or Namibian minerals, don't miss out on this beautiful miniature from this well-known mine.
