Item Description

This is a much less common style of Wulfenite from Ojuela, as most people are more familiar with the contemporary blocky and elongated pyramidal orange crystals with green Mimetite that came out a few years ago. This piece is from much older mining, certainly around the 1960s-1970s and features gorgeous bright yellow, very thin tabular habit GEM quality crystals which are associated with nearly white "tufts" of Mimetite on gossan matrix. Very attractive up close and the crystals are like little window panes. The largest Wulfenite measures 8 mm on edge. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico (Collection #7720).
