Item Description

A classic specimen of Dravite from the famous locality at Power's Farm, Pierrepont, New York. The piece features the well known trigonal stout crystals with the beautiful lustrous smooth faces that made these some of the most well known Tourmalines (especially opaque Tourmalines) in the world. The largest crystal measusres 1.3 cm, which is decent sized for the locality. Good shape overall, minimal damage. It should be noted that these specimens were labeled as Uvite for years, but it turns out that they are mostly Dravite compositionally with Uvite zones inside the same crystal. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico (the collection number starts with "76" but has been partially removed). The piece is accompanied by a lucite base from Miguel's personal collection.
