Item Description

A wonderful matrix display specimen of somewhat spongy whitish yellow colored Gold (Electrum, technically, as it has some minor admixed silver that gives it a lighter color) on Quartz from Mariposa County, California (no specific mine given). The piece is showy and rich, and certainly would make a great addition to a suite of native elements or a California mineral collection. The piece is glued to the lucite base, so we didn't remove it, but it can be removed if desired. Showy and eye-catching material from mining in the 1970s in California. Valued at $2000. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico (Collection #1968).
