Item Description

There is only one locality for significant Weloganite specimens in the world. The best of these pieces came out over 30 years ago, and they are prized by collectors for their unique form, unusual chemistry and beautiful crystallization. This piece is a fine quality, sharp, translucent, yellowish color crystal of Weloganite. This is an extremely rare mineral, and good specimens are few and far between. Please note that this locality is close to the famous Mt. Saint Hilaire Quarry in Quebec, so sometimes these specimens are labeled as coming from MSH, but they are only found at Francon. Great quality, no damage, and complete all the way around save the bottom where it detached from the matrix. Valued at $1500. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico (Collection #4857).
