Calcites from the famous small finds in the late 1980s and early 1990s at Malmberget are among the very world's finest in the recent past and are very highly desirable. This razor-sharp, gemmy, steeply terminated crystal has fine amber color and has very nifty, preferentially frosted termination faces. Unfrosted side faces show that the crystal is beautifully water-clear. Complete all-around, there is a natural contact on the front, with very little damage, per se. A modest bit of scuffing is noted here and along a nearby edge. The tip is very gently bruised. The crystal glows, when backlit. This remains an uncommon and highly representative example of the species and find. Valued at $600-800. Very seldom on the market. Ex Cynthia Payne Calcite Collection.
