Description:This well-known Illinois mine is noted for fine calcite crystals on fluorite. However, this unusual, uncommon and showy specimen features sparkly, tan barite crystals totally enveloping the glassy, purple fluorite cubes. One tiny fluorite is perched on the barite, with nifty effect. Unusually, BOTH species fluoresce: the barite a mellow yellow-orange; and the fluorite bright purple.
