Item Description

Mimetite is probably found in more colors and habits from Tsumeb than just about any other major world locality. I've seen single water clear yellow prisms to cluster to pearly groups and even botryoidal habits, all in fine quality specimens from this amazing mine. I would say the most desirable form is any piece that shows robust textbook hexagonal crystals like this specimen. This particular piece features dozens if not hundreds of somewhat vitreous and eye-catching, sharp, lustrous prismatic, modified hexagonal crystal "sprays" with a strong yellow hue which have formed a lovely overall group aeshetically set atop matrix. The piece three-dimensional and was a bit difficult to photograph, but truly looks better in person. It's in good shape all the way around and really displays well from a few angles. A very good quality and showy small cabinet of classic Tsumeb Mimetite. Valued at $3,000 in the inventory. If you're in the market for an attractive display specimen of Mimetite, don't miss out on this one.
