Item Description

Small, branching, arborescent, semi-wire like growths of Copper are sitting of translucent white Calcite with associated spots of bright red Cuprite from an undisclosed locality in Bisbee (very likely the Copper Queen Mine). This is OLD CLASSIC material, easily dating back 100 years. When viewed up close, the Coppers appear to be narrow "Spinel"-twins and we've used a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to illustrate the quality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#464). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
