Item Description

Despite the fact that there are only a handful of minerals found at the Elmwood mine, some of them are among the most recognizable minerals in the world. The classic purple Fluorites are a favorite among collectors, and it's easy to see why. This piece features a sharp, GEM/gemmy, beautiful royal purple and lilac color "phantom" cubic crystal of Fluorite measuring 1.6 cm on a thin layer of matrix with minor additional Fluorites. A classic example of an Elmwood Fluorite. Good quality for the material, and aesthetic to boot. This piece is close to 30 years old, and is a worthwhile display piece especially coming from this prominent and celebrated zinc ore body!
