Item Description

An eye-catching, three-dimensional cluster of fine quality, sharp, lusrous, gemmy prismatic Tourmaline crystals which show a yellowish-green tone on the pyramidal terminations, and transition into a lovely bluish-green hue in the prism which makes a quick change into a strong electric "Indicolite" blue near the basal terminations, ending with a rich inky-blue "cap". A tiny bit of pink coloring can be seen here and there, but the piece mostly shows green and blue tones. For the most part, the specimen is in fairly good shape, and there are even some doubly-terminated crystals in the bunch. The largest Tourmaline measures 2.6 cm long. Hard to photograph, and better in person! Fun to view up close. From the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil").
