Item Description

This piece came with a label from dealer Dave Shannon as coming from a locality called "Virginopolis", but I can't find a listing for this locality in any database. The back of the label states that it came from the dealer stock of the legendary Brazilian dealer, Carlos Barbosa. It very well could be from Capelinha, but I'm leaving it was Minas Gerais for now. A large gorgeous pistachio-green colored "fan"-shaped group of long, prismatic, very lustrous crystals of Epidote with a few accenting crystals growing in alternating directions. I honestly can't say that I've seen a piece quite like this before, and it really stands out as not only a unique display piece, but a good quality and showy Epidote, regardless of the locality. I would put the value arond $1,000-$1,200, and if you collect Epidote or Brazilian minerals, don't miss out on this attractive cabinet specimen.
