Item Description

Sharp, well-formed, GEMMY to translucent, lovely blue color, prismatic Kyanite crystals are aesthetically flaring off a matrix composed of Quartz and reddish-brown Staurolite from the famous Barra do Salinas District in Brazil. The largest crystal measures 3.2 cm, but the main crystal on the piece is the real draw. It's incredibly gemmy with a rich sapphire blue color, and it's doubly-terminated to boot! The beautiful color of the crystals, along with the good luster, form and overall appearance makes the piece a worthwhile small cabinet sized display specimen. From the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil").
