Ramsdellite in Quartz geode (RARE locale) Bedogne Coll.

Item Description

VERY RARE, perhaps UNIQUE ramsdellite in a quartz crystal lined geode from an unknown Morocco locale. Striking sprays to 1.0 cm of lustrous metallic needles are aesthetically scattered in the strikingly contrasting geode lined with sparkly, glassy quartz points included with tiny ramsdellite needles. Ramsdellite is a rare Mn-oxide and forms by inversion of pyrolusite or oxidative dehydrogenation of groutite. The needles are possibly pyrolusite from the obscure Imini Mine manganese deposit, Ouarzazate Province, known for pyrolusite specimens. The "pyrolusites" from Imini are in fact manganites partially replaced by pyrolusite (analyzed) (MINDAT). RARE and remarkable combination material from the Dr. Francesco Bedogne Collection # 2213.
