Item Description

This is a superb specimen from Shengus featuring a VERY large, sharp, highly lustrous, lovely wine-red, Spessartine crystal associated with minor white Albite on the back. For Garnet collectors, this is a very worthwhile piece of this well-known material, as you just don't see Garnet crystals of any species in this size range with such SHARP and LUSTROUS crystals. Usually when Garnets reach this size, they're often dull and distorted. The piece is in great condition on the front, but it's contacted on the back where it was removed from the pocket wall. Despite the fact that these pieces are fairly well-known on the market, they are still some of the best red Spessartines available from any locality. Valued at $1800.
