Item Description

A beautiful specimen of somewhat stalactitic tiny "finger"-shaped groups of beautiful blue Chrysocolla which has overgrown pseudomorphs of Azurite after Malachite on / over gossan matrix. These new specimens from Luputo are such attractive and desirable specimens based upon not only the fantastic color, but the fact that there are at least THREE generations of mineralization here. Initially the piece consisted of prismatic Azurite crystals, which were replaced by Malachite, and then a final generation of Chrysocolla came over the top. When viewed up close, the piece is gorgeous. It's rare to see free-standing, Chrysocolla from any locality, and this piece is certainly worthwhile for any copper species collector or a collector of colorful species. The largest individual pseudomorph measures 3.2 cm long. Originally priced at $600.
