Item Description

A lovely gemmy green prismatic crystal group of Vesuvianite from the classic (and now finished) Jeffrey Mine in Canada. This locality was one of the largest open-pit Asbestos mines in the world, and is well known for its colorful and distinctive Vesuvianite specimens which can range in color from colorless to purple to green in most cases. This piece features a few distinctive crystals with smooth, lustrous faces and slight translucency. It's in great shape overall, although it does have a small contact on the back. The color is excellent on this large thumbnail sized specimen, and now that very little is available on the market, be sure to get specimens from Jeffrey while you can. This piece was valued at $850 in the inventory.
