Description:An aesthetic and sculptural, two-sided arborescent cluster of lustrous, hematite-tinted, calcite scalenohedrons from the famous Southwest Mine at Bisbee. Calcites of great variety were saved from the very early days at Bisbee, being recognized for their beauty and variety by the miners, who were allowed to keep them since they had no commercial value. Classic material from this mine. Very nearly pristine, with only the most trivial of periphery wear. Ex Dennis Mullane Bisbee Collection.
