Description:A beautiful, 1.5 x 1.2 cm, sharply terminated, gemmy, well-striated anglesite crystal is attractively set in a vug lined with numerous smaller anglesite crystals on this classic, old-time specimen from the famous Monteponi Mine of Sardinia. The matrix is massive galena. This very fine crystal for the locale is pristine and the bruising to the surrounding crystals is noted, but is only a modest detraction. Highly representative material from this historic locale from the Robert Whitmore Collection. Valued at $400-500 as an excellent old historic classic. However, I should say I have seen lesser quality specimens priced at over 1000 euros, at the Munich show. They really ARE quite old and rare, if you find the right market to sell into
